200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh

During this course the student will learn the basics of yogasana, pranayama, and meditation. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra will be discussed and referred to as the foundation philosophical and guiding text of this course. We will discuss anatomy of the body as it relates to yoga, so that students can understand what muscles are being used in each asana and how they can help their future students. Students will learn about the business of yoga as well. Teaching methodology will be discussed and students will learn how to observe others bodies in order to gently correct their postures. We will also learn about subtle energy anatomy including chakras, nadis, and kundalini.

Students will learn how to sequence a yoga class, ethical guidelines for yoga teachers, and how to be an effective yoga teacher. We will also discuss and practice Bandhas (Binds) , Mudras (Yogic Gestures), Kriyas (cleansing techniques), and Mantra Chanting. This program is a 4 week Yoga residential course and all classes are held on site. Upon completion of the program, the participant will be eligible to apply as a 200 Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. These credentials set the candidate high above the rest, as there is a specific curriculum which must be adhered too, creating the most well-rounded and prepared yoga teachers available.
